Facial Liposuction
Facial liposuction addresses excessive fat within the neck and fat along the jowl area, and is designed to improve the contour of these areas, giving the face a more youthful look.
How it Works
To remove this fat, small incisions maybe placed below the chin, behind the ears, or at the corners of the mouth. Through these incisions, a small cannula is placed to remove the unwanted and excessive fat.
In younger patients, who have good skin elasticity only inconspicuous small incisions are indicated. For those patients with loose skin, a facelift is needed.
Chin implants are commonly done to enhance a small or weak chin in addition to the facial liposuction.
Recovery Process
Following surgery, a dressing is placed around the neck for one day, and most patients are back to work within a few days. Swelling and bruising are minimal.
